Colombia first participated at the Olympic Games in 1932, and has sent athletes to compete in all but one edition of the Summer Olympic Games since then, missing only the 1952 Games. Colombia has only participated in the Winter Olympic Games in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Colombian athletes have won a total of 19 Olympic medals in eight different sports. María Isabel Urrutia won the nation's first gold medal through weightlifing - 75 kg at the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. Helmut Bellingrodt holds the most medals with two silver in shooting - running target, followed by Jackeline Rentería Castillo with two bronze medals in wrestling - 55 kg.
